On May 17, the 17th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition “Caspian Agro”, which was held in parallel with the 29th Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition “InterFood Azerbaijan”, completed its work at the Baku Expo Center. Both exhibitions brought together 500 participating companies from 38 countries and attracted thousands of local and international visitors.
The main event of both gatherings was the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to exhibitions.
The heads of state acquainted themselves with the main directions of the presented industries, were informed about the potential of enterprises and promising areas of cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex. Presidents Aliyev and Lukashenko paid special attention to the expositions of Belarus and Azerbaijan. Within the framework of Caspian Agro, Belarusian producers signed agreements and contracts worth $54 million. Belarus has been presenting its products here for the fifth year in a row. Over 40 Belarusian companies have arrived in the Azerbaijani capital. At the open area of the exhibition center, the presidents were presented with Belarusian equipment, as well as tractors of joint production.
The scale of the event is underlined by the growth of the number of exhibitors. This year, exhibitions with a record number of participants covered all available pavilions and the outdoor area of the Baku Expo Center. For the first time, the fourth exhibition hall was opened for use here, which is characterized by modern infrastructure and the design of the stands deployed here. This allowed to increase the influx of visitors, while at the same time the number of business contacts increased. In total, 15 states have opened their national pavilions. In general, agricultural and food industry products are represented at exhibitions by national groups of Afghanistan, Germany, Georgia, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Poland, the Republic of Belarus, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan.
According to the invited guests and specialists of the agro-industry, the sections of the Caspian Agro exhibition exhibiting agricultural machinery and equipment, irrigation systems, innovative technologies in agriculture, livestock and poultry farming, greenhouses, feed production, crop production, fertilizers, fruit and vegetable growing were of particular interest.
The International Forum of Agricultural Innovations was held in the presentation area of the exhibition, where the topics "development of a sustainable rural economy", "Innovative approaches to sustainable water resources management in the rural economy", "Increasing digital knowledge in the rural economy" were discussed.
Traditionally, bilateral business meetings (B2B and B2G) were held within the framework of the exhibitions. Here, representatives of local and foreign companies met with representatives of government agencies. The International Forum of Agricultural Innovations was organized in the presentation area of the exhibition.
The next annual farmers' tour brought together over five hundred individual farmers from all over Azerbaijan. Experienced farmers and livestock breeders got acquainted with new technologies with interest, paid great attention to the presented equipment and modern innovations.
As part of the exhibition program, the traditional annual National Culinary Championship "Golden Shah" was held. More than two hundred chefs competed in the preparation of meat, fish, poultry dishes, restaurant desserts, as well as in art classes and other categories.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan provides organizational support for the holding of the Caspian Agro exhibition. The exhibitions are also actively supported by the Association of Exhibition Organizers of Azerbaijan (AZTA).
