Caspian Agro – A Platform for International Knowledge Exchange

On May 16, the largest exhibition in the Caspian region dedicated to agriculture and the food industry — the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition Caspian Agro — successfully concluded its work at the Baku Expo Center.
Running concurrently at the same venue was the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition InterFood Azerbaijan. Both exhibitions, which have become national brands, were organized by Caspian Event Organisers in partnership with Caspian Event Management and ICA Events.
A key sign of the importance of these events was the official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to Caspian Agro and InterFood Azerbaijan. The Head of State toured numerous exhibitions and displays at the Baku Expo Center.
Caspian Agro was held with the organizational support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event brought together leading players in the agricultural sector, local and international experts, importers and exporters, distributors of agricultural products, wholesale and retail traders, as well as farmers – all with the purpose of exchanging experience, knowledge, and innovation.
Taking into account feedback from participants and visitors, the exhibitions were held over four days this year. According to the organizers, this new extended format allowed for deeper and broader interaction between participants and attendees.
Nearly 450 companies from more than 30 countries participated in InterFood Azerbaijan and Caspian Agro, occupying all the indoor halls and the open-air exhibition space of the Baku Expo Center. Among the leading participants were "Azersun," "Beta," "Futura," Ganja Automobile Plant, "John Deere," "Kronen," "Landini," "Lindsay," "Lovol," "Metak," "Miratorg," "New Holland," "Solis," "Valley," and many others. Long-time exhibitor "Prior Leasing" served as the official registration sponsor for Caspian Agro.
At a regional level, Caspian Agro covered sectors such as agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, innovative agricultural technologies, livestock and poultry farming, crop production, and digital agriculture. The “Smart Agro” section introduced visitors to cutting-edge solutions in artificial intelligence, smart villages, startups, IT services, robotics, drones, and green agriculture.
It is important to highlight that the exhibitions played a significant role in promoting the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand — a point that was noted by many local and international visitors.
A rich business program ran alongside both exhibitions. In the presentation zone, the 2nd International Forum on Agrarian Innovation was held with the participation of ministers from various countries. Discussions included models of agroparks within modern agricultural frameworks, the use of artificial intelligence in farming, the development of agricultural insurance systems, as well as the exchange of knowledge in agriculture and food sciences, among other important topics.
Traditional group tours to the exhibitions for farmers from across Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic once again proved highly beneficial. This year, farmers showed great interest in learning about the latest industry developments and international practices. Participants of the farmer tours agreed that such events encourage knowledge-sharing and contribute to improving the quality of production and living conditions in rural areas.
The exhibitions Caspian Agro and InterFood Azerbaijan are actively supported by the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA), the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan (ASK), the Azerbaijan Food and Beverage Industry Producers Association (AQİSA), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Azerbaijan Exhibition Organizers Association (ASTA).
