Our Finnish engineering company specializes in designing and building lines for growing lettuce and greens. This is a very narrow niche within the greenhouse industry, and today we are the leading company in this segment worldwide.
We participate in many exhibitions around the world, primarily in countries where our main sales markets are — the USA, Canada, and European countries. At the same time, each year we choose new countries to explore the potential of introducing our products. This year, those countries are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkey. In order to understand the global market, it is essential for us to be present at such professional exhibitions. That’s why we are here today in Baku, at Caspian Agro.
Interactions at the exhibition and preliminary market research have shown that there are no technologies similar to ours currently available in Azerbaijan, which gives us the opportunity to be pioneers in introducing lettuce and green crop growing technologies in the country. Green Automation offers two growing systems: one optimized for the production of cut baby leaves, and the other for whole head lettuce. These growing systems are highly automated and designed for commercial hydroponic production. They are engineered to ensure maximum efficiency in greenhouses, allowing the full growth cycle to be completed without human involvement. For investors, this guarantees a very fast return on investment and a profit margin of 30–40%.
Overall, Caspian Agro has made a very good impression. It showcases nearly all sectors of agriculture and the food industry. For a relatively small country like Azerbaijan, the exhibition looks very respectable — both in terms of the level of participating companies and the flow of professional and interested visitors. In my personal opinion, organizing the exhibition areas by sectors — and in particular, allocating a dedicated space for plant production — could contribute to even greater results.
