On 19 May 2023, the 16th Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition "Caspian Agro" and the 28th Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition "InterFood Azerbaijan" officially completed their work in Baku Expo Center.
The attendance of the head of the state was one of the critical moments in the work of the two events, with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva coming to see Caspian Agro и InterFood Azerbaijan. Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov updated the esteemed guests on the the events.
Covering all the pavilions and the open space of Baku Expo Center, the showcases boasted a record number of national and regional stands. Participating were a total of 479 companies from 31 countries, and 9 nations were represented with national stands. This time, Caspian Agro and InterFood Azerbaijan hosted regional groups from the USA, Germany, Belarus, Georgia, Italy, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Russia, as well as the first-timers Tunisia and Czechia.
The head of the state and the first lady visited stands of Grow Group Azerbaijan, Maschio Gaspardo, New Holland, Rostselmash, MySilo, Rauch Landmashchinen, SwissGrow, AfiMilk, Gowan, Can-Pa, as well as those of Czechia, Italy, Belarus, Georgia, the USA, and the Netherlands. The stands showcased state-of-the-art agricultural equipment, seeding and harvesting machinery, and agricultural produce.
While visiting the stand put up by the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, it was pointed out that Nakhchivan farmers prefer growing organic produce as food security is one of the top preconditions for agricultural production.
The Agriculture Ministry's pavilion has prepared a special presentation dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The development of agrarian sector in Azerbaijan is closely connected to the great leader's activity. The pavilion therefore displays the latest achievements of R&D institutes as well as green energy installations and products.
Among them are developments presented by agrarian startupers (winners of contests and competitions) such as: Varroa destructor control methods; a system that combines traditional fish husbandry with hydroponic agriculture; H2 biogas generated by alternative energy sources; a smart greenhouse control system; a laser-equipped agrobot that cleans fields from weeds; a portable power unit for cars; wind and sun monitoring units; controlled solar panels; remotely controlled meters; wind turbines; a climate station; a drip irrigation control sensor; solar-powered inverters for irrigation purposes.
Supported by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), micro and small businesses active in the food industry and agriculture presented their products and services at Caspian Agro and InterFood Azerbaijan.
Adding flavor to the international cooperation was the attendance of the two events by farmers from various regions of Azerbaijan. Many an agrarian and businessperson have managed to find the answers to pressing questions in the field. This year, Caspian Agro welcomed a record number of farmers from forty regions of the country.
As part of the exhibition, equipment and machinery used in agriculture by AZertekhnika LLC, Agritekh LLC, Agromotors, and Ganja Car Plant were displayed in the open area.
The Agrarian Innovations Forum caused a big interest; it featured the discussions on such topics as "Heydar Aliyev's Efficient Agrarian Policy in Agriculture Development", "Innovative Solution-Based Technology in Agriculture", "Organic Agriculture", "Digital Agriculture", "Green Agriculture" etc.
Foreign participants of the exhibitions made a special mention of productive B2B meetings, which greatly boost long-term cooperation with local companies and overseas customers alike.
