Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Baku hosted conference "Azerbaijani-Turkish experience in the development of promising sectors of agriculture".
At the conference Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov and president of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation (ASK) Mammad Musayev signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening collaboration between the private and public sectors in the field of agriculture.
In turn, Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated that the main direction of economic policy of Azerbaijan at the present time is to increase economic activity in the country.
"To strengthen macroeconomic stability, the state will take steps to increase economic activity that will ultimately lead to an increase in the number of jobs. Amid the decline in public investment, the increase of economic activity demands to increase the volume of raised foreign investments, and therefore, one of the main focuses is the promotion of external investments in Azerbaijan," Mustafayev said.
He also stated that it is necessary to improve the access of cotton growers to finance.
"The government intends to increase subsidized lending to entrepreneurs engaged in cotton growing. We also negotiate with the procuring organizations to urge them to offer a better price to cotton growers," Mustafayev said.
